These Are A Few of My Favorite Things...

"Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens,
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens,
Brown paper packages tied up with string,
These are a few of my favorite things."
~From the the Sound of Music

I've been tagged...
by the sweet and talented, Nancy at Southern Lady!
Go check out her beautifully decorated home, if you haven't already!

I am to list FIVE of my favorite things. Most of you all already know that two of them would certainly be my family and flowers, that I have posted several times before.
Throw in Diet Sundrop, and the top of my list is complete!

But I wanted to surprise you and come up with something different, so here we go....
1, 2, & 3) The first picture covers three of my favorite things....

My collection of Roosters in my Kitchen,
Large Platters, China or Crystal,
& My collection of Paula Deen Cookbooks

4) Monogrammed Items! I've gone completely mad over anything monogrammed! My children are looking for their underwear to be monogrammed! Ashley pointed out this morning during church, that her Dad's shirt was monogrammed! LOL! ...compliments of moi! Below are pictures of monogrammed items throughout the house...

Window Treatments in the Foyer

Monogrammed Initial Garden Flags. Why stop with one?

When two would be better!

Monogrammed Shower Curtain in David's Bathroom...

Monogrammed Shoes...
I also have a pair of monogrammed clogs, which Josh declares I wear, so that I can remember my name! :)

5) Animal Prints! I absolutely adore animal prints! Not a strong statement of them, but little touches and glimpses of them here and there!

Candles....

Chairs....

Entertaining....

Oh, and SHOES...this could count as NUMBER 6, of my favorites, and would be near the top of my list! But shoes in animal prints, even sweeter!

And a touch of animal print in unexpected places, a (faux) cowhide rug in the girly yellow toile room....

"When the dog bites,
When the bee stings,
When I'm feeling sad,
I simply remember my favorite things,
And then I don't feel so bad!"

If you would like to join in on the fun and list your FIVE favorite things, I encourage you to do so! Let me know, so I can be sure to check them out!
I'm off to watch Design Star....Hope all of you had a great weekend!
~Rhonda ;)

I, too, LOVE Paula Deen....she is awesome... but I don't have any of her cookbooks! How sad is that??
But hey- I have the Food Network.com!!!
I love all of your favorite things. So fun to get to know you more!!
Tell your hubby that when he is ready to part with that butcher block that I will come and take it off his hands- and he wont even have to twist my arm. Tell him I will do it as a favor just because you are the sweetest thing!! LOL!!! Think he would buy it!?! LOL!!!
Have a great day sweetie!

You really have such a nice home! I don't remember ever seeing that chair either and I love it! I also love the tea cup in one of the picutures of your monograms. I've never seen this diet pop either, it must be something distributed in the south that we don't get. Have a great day!

I like monogrammed things. I think they look so classy. I do not however own anything monogrammed.

The pink flower cup and saucer in the picture with the hand towel......I have one JUST like it. It is very old and has been in the family since I was a child. I was wondering where you got yours? It truly made me smile to see you had one just like it!!!

What a fun post! I loved seeing all of those pictures.

The monograms are wonderful! The window treatments in your foyer are to die for!

And the little touches of animal print. Perfect! Especially the shoes. :-) In my working (outside the home) days I had a pair of zebra striped slides that I used to wear with my favorite black pants suit. They were so much fun. The suit was conservative and understated but the shoes made me smile.

Hello Rhonda. Love this post!

Sundrop soda was not available where my daughter was attending college at SEMO, southeast Missouri, back in the 1980's. It was available here at home. I can remember T returning to college, at the end of weekends, with a couple cases of Sundrop, for her friends, at Cape.

I only have a couple monogrammed things. Would love to have more!

Have a wonderful week.

Rhonda, a fat quarter is 1/4 yard of fabric and then they cut it in half so you get a square approximately 22x9 inches. They sell for about $1.50-2.00. That way you don't have way too much of one fabric sitting around if you only need a little piece for a quilt. I didn't know what they were either until I started quilting about 1-1/2 years ago. I've always tied quilts but now I piece the tops and pay a lady to machine quilt them. Thanks so much for stopping by, now you know how nuts I am. Believe me I wish I had messy closets bz I live with clutter out all the time and it can be embarrassing if someone comes over unexpectedly! My house isn't a pig sty but it is a little too much stuff out. No one ever looks in your closets so I just live life backwards! I'm working on it, have been for years!!!

Correction 1/2 yard of fabric to equal about 22x18. It's been a long morning!

Hi Rhonda! I'm sorry I havent' been around much lately!

I think all of your favorites could be mine too! Except for the soda, because I've never had that before. Animal prints, monograms, roosters, love 'em all! But I only have two pair of animal print shoes! I guess I'm gonna have to go shopping!

Like you really need another tag - but anyway I just tagged you for a meme on my blog. Only play if you have the time! :)

Two words: WOW and WOW!!

Let me first say, my ex-husband's father came to Mass. from Scotland at age 16. My ex's grandparents were the cutest things....that Scottish brogue was so facinating. My son has always had a great interest in Scotland and he would love to visit there someday. There are still relatives in Edinburg. Where in the world did you get those pics? I want my son to see this!

Next Wow! I love monograms too but find them to be rather expensive. I would love to know where you got the monogramed shade. Are you doing monograms yourself? Lots of questions, only you can answer!!! (ha ha).

XOXO
Judy
