{Blue Transferware}

Those of you looking for my Blue Transferware Post,
I apologize for the delay.
I had a meeting this morning, that I had almost forgotten.

KD, at Southern Whimsy is hosting her 1st Themed Thursday Event,
and the theme this week is Blue Transferware.
So without further adieu,
come take a look at my collection....
When my grandmother was living, she kept a set of Blue Transferware dishes on the top shelf of one of her kitchen cabinets. I'm sure she probably found the set at a yard sale, being the avid thrifter that she was....I got it honest! {smiles!} But, she consider this set very special and never used it. I admired it for years. Imagine my delight, when my mother gave it to me after my grandmother passed away, almost three years ago. {Lochs of Scotland ~ Royal Warwick ~ England}

The set has many pieces, including 2 medium size serving bowls and small berry bowls.

For now, the pieces rest in my china cabinet.

The plate below, was one loner that my grandmother had with the set. Thanks to blogging, my knowledge of china is growing, but still unfortunately limited. Does anyone know the history or info about it?
Closer view.... This is repetition for some, but the platter and two plates are used as decoration over the study doors.
Not sure if this is considered a piece of transferware, however it is a new piece for me, found a couple of days ago at a second-hand shop. {Buffalo China}

Next Thursday, I will be putting together a Tablescape using this set of china, for Tablescape Thursday, hosted by Susan, at Between Naps On the Porch.

  9. Hi Rhonda!
    Your grandmothers transferware if gorgeous! What a treasure! Your home is so beautiful & I love all your "junk" finds. You have the "eye" as a friend of mine used to call it.

    I love your dog's names. We hav e a Bailey too! You mentioned that your daughter named your Coco. My DIL's mom is an Interior Designer & Coco Chanel is a huge favorite of hers, so when she got their little yorkie, she named her Coco Chanel, but no one called her both names. When she got the 2nd yorkie, she became Chanel...

    Love your blog! ♥ Diane

  38. Rhonda- that set is beautiful! My Evelyn had a set similar to that and I adored it. When she passed away she left me the red set instead, which was actually much older and more precious to her. And she knew I loved red!! It is so wonderful to have things from our loved ones to cherish long after they have gone.
    I can not wait to see how you set the table. You have such a talent for that and I know it will be lovely!!
    Hope you are doing well!!

Maybe someday I'll get some of it or my sisters and I will draw for it. In the mean time, I am happy for her and I am happy for you to have such lovely dishes. I really appreciate mine too. 43. I have at least an eight place setting of Royal Warwick Lochs of Scotland blue and white transfer ware which includes dinner plates, tea cups and saucers, salad plates, and a tea pot. I may have a dinner plate too, but I will have to check on that. All items are stamped "England" on the bottom which means they were made between WWI and WWII. All items are in very good condition with no chips or cracks. This was my Mom's, and I'm considering selling the complete set. I can be reached via e-mail at traveler_mrl@yahoo.com
