For Silver Sunday,
hosted by The Gypsy Fish,
I'd like to share something very dear to us,
my children's silver baby cups.
The precious cups were given to them on their first Christmas,
by their Grandaddy Bill,
who passed away four years ago, this February.
Ashley's is the first one below.
They are both sterling, one by Towle and the other by Wallace, and are inscribed with a message from their Grandaddy on the bottom of the cups.
The silver rattle was a gift to Ashley from her Grandma Frances.
Ashley's features a beautiful handle, while David's is plain and more masculine.
The children's initials are engraved on the fronts.

Seems like only yesterday that Ashley received this beautiful baby cup.
Times passes much too quickly!
And now,
16 years later.... She celebrated Homecoming at her school Friday Night,
and was a member of the Homecoming Court.
For the third consecutive year,
she was escorted by Josh.
Next year, as a senior, she will be escorted by her Dad, a school tradition.
Josh turned 19, a few weeks ago.
Looking at them on the court, I realized just how much the two of them have matured and grown.
...I cried! :)
I'm not taking this "growing up thing well!"

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

I am showing my son't cup this week also. Oh, I remember those crying days, watching the kids growing up. I still cry sometimes. I miss my babies.
Rhonda, loved the pictures of the family - so glad they could be there to help Ashley celebrate this occasion. Yes, the children are growing up - but you taught them well and they will continue to make you and Kevin very proud.
From a Granny's (me) view point so glad to see the cheer leaders do their routine without doing some suggestive sex moves.
Enjoy the weekend.
What a wonderful story that goes with your silver cups. It's always the love that's behind an item that makes it priceless. Beautiful girl!
You have a lovely family, Rhonda. How nice that they have their own treasured silver cup as a remembrance of their granddad....Christien

Your children are just lovely. I so remember those precious when my daughter was homecoming queen, and you are living some of the most wonderful times with them. Beautiful pictures and the video is wonderful too. Enjoy all those memories and moments. Hugs, Marty
What beautiful treasures. I loved seeing pictures of your family. They are just as priceless. Looking forward to watching the video... sure glad you stopped by... hugs ~lynne~
Such a nice tradition for senior year. Fun to see the family and my goodness, those gals have a lot of energy! I remember the days when my kids were about to be grown...I felt much the same way as you do, but I can tell you from the other side of their being grown that it is wonderful. So you have much to enjoy right now and much to look forward to. It's all good!
How wonderful that these keepsakes will be handed down and be treasured for years!
The baby cups are such a wonderful family treasure. Your daughter looked beautiful at her homecoming.

Those are beautiful silver cups and how special.
Loved watching the cheerleaders. Great job! She looks so pretty in her Homecoming Court dress. I bet you are soooo proud of her. It is hard to believe how quickly they grow up.
First of all, Rhonda, I've got to say that your children are beautiful! And congrats to your gorgeous daughter on being elected to the homecoming court. Well, of course you cried! It's a given that on those special occasions when life long memories are made, tears are gonna flow! The baby cups and rattle are all so pretty and special. I loved your Silver Sunday post, Rhonda!

You have a lovely family Rhonda! Yes, they do grow up so fast...
Hi Rhonda
What a beautiful post. I know how quickly time passes and those little ones grow up so quickly. At the time you don't think they will as you run around doing all that you can to keep things together...but then all of a sudden you've once again passed that stage.
Your family is lovely...your children beautiful and I can feel your pride in your children...very lovely. My Saturday Post is a close to the heart moment for me as well.
I haven't seen you for a long time...blogland is such a busy place. I have a Giveaway..its on my Sidebar..come and leave your name.
have a lovely day
Judi
Beautiful post, Rhonda. Absolutely beautiful!
Precious cups. Although I am guessing that the treasure are your children by all the photos of them. As it should be!
What a doll! I'm glad to see more of Kevin and Josh and Ashley. She gets prettier every day. I like being able to put a face with the names. I don't do well with this growing up business either. Kaje' just turned 17 and I'm wondering what to do with the rest of my life. Why do things have to change, lol! I liked it the way it was before!
