Time To Clean This Old House...

One of my favorite Contemporary Christian Songs out today is, "Whatever You're Doing," by Sanctus Real. As I have been cleaning intensely from the remodeling, all the dust and mess, one line really strikes a chord with me, "...Time to clean this old house."

This is a song of encouragement. One about letting go of the past, and moving on. Purging the things that keep us prisoner to the past. There are times when we try, but can not clean "our houses" on our own. We need to surrender to God and allow Him to take us forward, give us peace.

I hope you have a few moments to listen to the Youtube video and follow the lyrics below. And I hope that this song blesses your heart as it did mine! ~Rhonda :)

Whatever You're Doing
~Sanctus Real

It's time for healing time to move on
It's time to fix what's been broken too long
Time to make right what has been wrong
It's time to find my way to where I belong
There's a wave that's crashing over me
And all I can do is surrender

(Chorus)
Whatever You're doing inside of me
It feels like chaos but somehow there's peace
It's hard to surrender to what I can't see
but I'm giving in to something Heavenly

Time for a milestone
Time to begin again
Reevaluate who I really am
Am I doing everything to follow Your will
Or just climbing aimlessly over these hills
So show me what it is You want from me
I give everything I surrender...
To...

(Chorus)

Time to face up
Clean this old house
Time to breathe in and let everything out
That I've wanted to say for so many years
Time to release all my held back tears

Whatever You're doing inside of me
It feels like chaos but I believe
You're up to something bigger than me
Larger than life something Heavenly

Whatever You're doing inside of me
It feels like chaos but now I can see
This is something bigger than me
Larger than life something Heavenly
Something Heavenly

It's time to face up
Clean this old house
Time to breathe in and let everything out

Hi Rhonda,
Did you know that Matt who is the lead singer from Sanctus Real and his wife Sarah are friends of ours. They live a few blocks from us. I had a picture of them on my blog a couple of weeks ago. They are the most precious family. I love this song too but then I am pretty biased.

Hugs,
LeAnn:)

Good Morning Miz Rhonda,
If you're at the cleaning stage does that mean you're almost finished with the wallpaper removal?

Great post, lots to reflect on, thanks for sharing!

Morning Scooter...that song is beautiful...and so perfect for this time of year...You know I love this time of year cause my family is so close and we are always up under each others armpits as we say! lol But I realize there are everywhere that this is a hard time of year for..there is so much hurt and bitterness between some family members and the stress and tension just build up and they won't let go and forgive and it is like a time bomb waiting to go off and it usually does at the holidays...we all have a do a little 'house' cleaning of our souls from time to time...beautiful post girl!

Hi again Rhonda :)

The broccoli is okay when it's cold, but if you have an electric warmer or buffet server with sterno on low it stays perfect :)

I hope you like it!

Hello Rhonda,

It's lovely to hear from you! It's kind of funny - because I have definitely been cleaning my house. My house has been sorely neglected because I was having to work on getting three quilts out to magazines in about 1 month. Now that the pressing deadlines are over, I am having to clean out every nook and cranny around the house.

I am doing well, just tired - so, I am going to take it easy for the rest of this week and catch up on my sleep too! :)

Blessings!

What a timely post - I have my 9th year job review on Tuesday and the Dr. makes us fill out an evaluation on ourselves to reflect how we think we are doing..... I think after 9 years we could forego this procedure it's so dumb, See, I need to "clean house" and I literally, need to clean my house....Robyn

Technology really has become one with our daily lives, and I am fairly certain that we have passed the point of no return in our relationship with technology.

I don't mean this in a bad way, of course! Ethical concerns aside... I just hope that as technology further develops, the possibility of uploading our memories onto a digital medium becomes a true reality. It's one of the things I really wish I could experience in my lifetime.
