{what a difference a week makes}

Has it really been almost a week since my last post?
It has been a busy one,
...and a crazy one, as far as the WEATHER goes!
Monday and Tuesday, we had overnight temps in the teens.
To some of you in other parts of the country, that may be a winter heatwave! {LOL!}
But to me, that is pretty doggone cold, and not something we see often.
...and, we also had SNOW FLURRIES Monday morning.
Snow, three times in one year!
That is about half the amount of snow I have seen in my entire 40 years.
So much for global warming!

But one thing about the weather in the South, give it DAY, and it can change drastically!
{...reeking havoc on one's sinus'! ugh!}
This weekend, we are anticipating upper 70-80 degree temps,
and lots of GLORIOUS SUNSHINE!
Which has me in the mood for spring and yarkwork!

My MIL stayed with us Monday-Wednesday, and we explored a little yesterday before she left. I found the new garden flag and bow above. And she bought the cute little rabbit plate for me below, at a local gift shop. ...much needed inspiration and boost to welcome spring and Easter.

{Now if I can just remember where the rest of my Easter decorations are stashed! I really have no inkling! Not good! LOL!}

So with the rising temps, I am itching to get out in the yard.
After doing some house cleaning today, that is where I will be tomorrow!
Josh has aired the tires of my trusty, old wheelbarrow, I've purchased a few pansies,
....GREAT OUTDOORS, here I come!

I am looking at freshly fallen snow this morning and it was a balmy 69 earlier this week. Springtime is coming...yet no blooms to show off yet, hardly a bud to be found.
Your new Easter things looks so fresh and fun and to go with your MIL must have been wonderful. Although mine died just about 2 years ago it has been a good 15 years since she was able to really go shopping and be a grandma. She was like a sweet child.

Happy Spring my friend!

We got snow overnight and I'm so jealous that you can go out and see green things and plant your flowers! I'm so ready for spring that it's not even funny. This winter has been a tough one for me but with the salt water fiasco last year maybe my yard won't turn green at all and I'll be wishing I had snow to cover it up! LOL! We'll see what spring brings. I'm glad you posted and have been having a good time. I missed you!

It's still to early to plant here, in Missouri. But, my granddad always said to get potatoes in the ground on St Patrick's Day, so that's coming up pretty quickly!!LOL

I love the bunny and flag.

Bring on the warm weather!!

Love that rabbit! What a good MIL you have! Those pansies are pretty. All of mine died over the winter, so I guess I'll be buying new ones too. I just cruised the Lowe's parking lot, but nothing caught my eye yet. Guess they're waiting for the snow to melt. UGH!

Hi Rhonda...this has been one crazy winter for us here in Texas too...no snow, but in the teens one day & 70-80 the next...I think all of the budding plants are as confused as we are... ;-) Bo

That is crazy weather! You are so good to get right out there and start planting. I have soooo much cleanup that needs to be done in the yard, but I feel like I am too far behind inside to go out! Maybe on Saturday...

Hi Rhonda,
I see you have a new look :) Very nice.
There is still snow on the ground and it's a bummer. The yard is all mussy and it is thawing so that make puddles for the dogs to get into. Dreaming of spring flowers!!
Have a great weekend.
Warmly,
Deb

Just popping in to say hello, and wondering if you got outside to play in the dirt today...it's been spring like here.. starting to cloud up with the threat of rain tomorrow. With all the grass fires in our area, it will be a welcome sight..hugs ~lynne~

You left me that comment just to taunt me didn't you?! LOL! I so envy your weather in the spring, fall, and winter! I've done a post that will be on tomorrow answering questions about Trav's mission. I have a question for you though. If I remember right, you're a Baptist (if not disregard this question). I went to a Baptist wedding when I was a little girl and remember them lighting candles during the ceremony. What do the candle symbolize? I always thought it was such a beautiful thing to do. I'm still enthralled with that wedding (it was my cousin's) and remember it as kind of a fairy tale wedding! If you know the answer I'd appreciate it bz I haven't been able to find the answer. Enjoy your heat wave. I'll keep the shivering down to a minimun so you don't feel too bad for me! LOL!

Hi Rhonda! First Love the new design; so different and makes me want neopolitan ice cream which I could use today since it is 75 here! Way too hot for me!lol I need a new garden flag too! Since my last name begins with G how about if I "borrow" that one?lol That bunny plate is adorable; I'd put him on a plate holder on my dining room wall! Gee too bad we don't live closer; you'd have things missing!!!lol Enjoy Sunday another hot day!!! Sincerely, Jeannette

btw, love that "G" flag, maybe i'll steal that idea! ;)

Hi Rhonda, You have a very sweet MIL to buy you such a pretty plate. I love that standing rabbit too. Your pansies are just beautiful. I think we have had our first touch of spring here too. I hope so, because like you, I can't wait to get out in the garden

I can relate to the crazy weather you are having. It is 60 today and we may get snow tomorrow. Pansies are one of my favorite flowers. I can not wait until it is safe to plant! That is April here in New England!

We had wonderful weather this past Saturday. I think it was a tease though. It was snowing on my way home from school today. I always get pansies on my birthday. Try as I may they never make it through the summer!

I'm looking forward to spring too!

take care,
Dawn

Hello Rhonda, what pretty flowers, I can't wait until our stores start selling them. I love pansies. This past weekend was beautiful in WV, in the 70's. Love the red envelope idea. I've been trying to come up with a gentle way to put something about this on my blog, it's almost like an answered prayer. So glad your belly band worked for the doggie. I know it's hard when things like that happen.
I'm having a giveaway, drawing will be in the morning. If you have time stop by and enter, it's on my Feb. 28 Pink Saturday post.
Bless you, Shirl
