Beautiful day for Yard Sale'in....

November is off to a beautiful start.
Yesterday was a sunny 70 degrees,
and the perfect day to hit the yard sales.
So, check out what I found....

The items from the first two pictures all came from my first stop, $8 total.
I thought these would be great pieces for holiday entertaining, especially the the two tiered silver piece, once cleaned up.
The silver piece with the square HEAVY square glass canister is really unique.
The brown ornate "box" piece was brand new, still in the plastic.
Found the glass candlestick holders below, at the flea market....5 for $2.50. They will coordinate well with my candlewick collection.
Kevin collects old store and gas station memorabilia. A guy at the flea market sold me this vintage battery display for $22. It has several little "secret" drawers, and the front lifts up to house the batteries. ....Still has the original cardboard inside, a little dusty, but otherwise in great condition. I was going to save it for Christmas, but I was so excited, that I gave it to him as soon as I walked in the door!

Batteries were quite a bit cheaper then, huh? :)

The piece below was 50 cents. Have no idea what I will do with it, just thought it was interesting. LOL!
I could use it in a Christmas vignette, with a huge Christmas ball nestled on top...
Got any ideas???
The bargains didn't just stop there. Found HEALTHY baskets of pansies at Lowe's for $3.49, on the clearance rack.

A little color for the winter months...

"Previous~week bargain"...Pumpkins for a couple of dollars each...

Well, I am off to get ready for Church....
David has a bowl full of candy from Halloween and a local festival parade yesterday.
Every time pass by, I snitch a piece.
I think I've gained 10 pounds overnight, ...I'm tempted to throw it every bit in the trashcan.
I'll probably need a SHOEHORN to squeeze me into my ZOOT SUIT, today! LOL!
(That's Kevin's term for my girdle.)
Sure hope the preacher isn't long~winded. If so, they may have to cut me out of it when I get home! LOL!
Blessing to all of you! ~Rhonda :)

The battery display is so cool... what did Kevin have to say about it?! I had to chuckle at the girdle name ~Zoot Suit~ ...tooo funny! And don't you dare throw away David's Halloween Loot!! I see Tootsie Rolls in there, and those are my All-Time-Favorite-Candy!! Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

I hope your Zoot-Suit time was short, and that your Sunday with your dear family is peaceful 'n relaxing... God bless...

What great finds you have.
Can't wait to see all of it in use this holiday season.

After eating all of the junk around my house I need to get a "zoot suit" of my own. ;)

Have a great Sunday.

You are a super shopper; those are some goodies.

As for church, you must be a different religion than me as "girdle" is against my religion! lol

What wonderful treasures your Saturday garage/yard sales provided.

It will be exciting to see how you wind up using them for decorating for the Holidays...and later on.

May today be filled with many blessings from our Heavenly father.

Hi Rhonda,
Looks like you found some neat things, and had fun too!

I know what you mean about the candy! It is so easy to lose track of how much you eat.

Good Morning Miz Rhonda,
I love me a yard sale and it looks like you do too, great score on all your pieces. I especially love the tired piece and can't wait to see how you use.

Don't even start on the candy, we have a pile left over and the pile is shrinking due to me snitching it! Gotta stop!

Rhonda, you made me think about what my hubby said about me wearing my long line bra to church every sunday when I was younger.Notice I said when I was younger, now I just let it all hang out LOL.
Anyway, hubby would always fasten me up in it and one morning he said,if one of these fasteners ever comes loose it would be traveling so fast it would bounce off everything in the church and probably knock the preacher out !

Love your finds Rhonda.

Hope your Sunday is a good one, Zoot Suit and all!! :O)

What wonderful yard sale finds! And that battery display piece is wonderful. Oh, this did make me want to find a good yard sale, but nobody in my area sells great stuff like you found, or maybe if you came to my area, you'd find good stuff. You obviously have a great eye for a bargain. laurie

Love your finds. I think that 50 cent piece held a glass container for a candle!! And girl...a girdle..let it go!!!
I have to tell you that we are rather relaxed in AZ. When I was in Michigan, it was nippy, so I had to wear pantyhose!!! All I have to say is, I LEFT THEM in MI!!

Rhonda, your sense of humor is delightful. It's so nice NOT to take ourselves seriously sometimes. I LOVE garage sales, this weekend I found a large glass cylinder vase for 2. that I plan to put lemons in. (Or Christmas ornaments) and 10 xbox and playstation 2 games for 2. each.

That was the best part of having kids who trick or treated, snitching their candy!! You found such wonderful treasures too. You didn't tell us what Kevin said when he saw the battery display.....I bet he was so thrilled! I wish we still paid that for batteries too, I blow through them pretty fast with my wireless keyboard and mouse. Hmmmm, I wonder what you paid for car batteries back then? Have a great rest of the weekend and thanks for all your support in the email. I didn't mean to whine but it was nice to get it all out. You are a true friend.

WOW! All your recent purchases are awesome!! Wish I had been with you for those sales. Well... we may have wrestled each other to the ground for a couple of those things!
They will be so nice at the holidays. I always love to make things look a bit different every year for some variety.
