Pretty & Functional Silver

To say Silver is shiny, pretty,
even glamorous,
is an understatement,
but it can be quite functional as well!
After many months of admiring these Tin Woodsmen pewter measuring spoons, made famous by Paula Deen, I splurged and bought a set for myself several Christmases ago.
...Actually after they arrived, I opened them and proudly showed my husband "what he bought me for Christmas!"
Isn't he a sweetie! :)
One purchase I have yet to regret! Love them!
For the dining room, to catch those little stray crumbs after dinner,
an aluminum silent butler.
Handy, indeed!
Found at a local antique store.

~Blessings to you, Rhonda~

The spoons look great...don't blame you for buying them yourself for a gift...just helped the husband so it was a two fold purchase.

Enjoy the day -

Hi Rhonda! Oh what pretty shiny things you have! I've bought myself gifts before from my husband. I sure have surprised him a few times! :)
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

I've never heard of a silent butler or the Paula Deen silver that she made famous! I really need to branch out I guess. Beautiful silver. You're so refined that I just picture you as this sweet little Southern Belle who just knows how to make everything beautiful! We're lucky if all the silverware and disshes match most days, lol! I need to be more like you, that's for sure.

I like the little brush and tray. I have seen a lot through the blogs but never in person. Good thing summer and flea markets will be here in only 5 months! Thanks for sharing.

You just made my day! I have to say though what you do is an art also. You have an eye for beauty in the most amazing things. I could never see some of the things you see and make them beautiful. I only have an eye for what is already beautiful and have trouble envisioning it how it could be (unless it comes to renovating a home but I don't have the skills to pull that off!). I hope your sides heal soon from all that poking, lol! You gotta love it when you husband and daughter both see eye to eye like that...even if it is at your expense! Who said there was anything wrong with wanting things our own way anyway?

my mother in law has given me a lot of silver and i
marvel at how lovely it looks all polished! i love
to place pieces next to rustic items to give a nice
complexity.

my sister in law is from clinton, nc!
