Garden Club Holiday Tablescapes

As my contribution for Susan's, at Between Naps on the Porch, weekly Tablescape event, I would like to share seven Holiday Tablescapes that were presented at the local Garden Club a couple of weeks ago. As I shared in a previous post, I was invited as a guest to bring a "Thanksgiving Creation" of my own. (Click HERE, for the original post of my contribution.)

Tablescape 1

This was my favorite setting, the china was exquisite and elegant! I was so tempted to pick it up and see who manufactured it! ...but I was on my best behavior and kept my hands to myself! :)

The arrangement of fresh greens, was copied from one similar in the Southern Living Magazine. The original arrangement was assembled in a basket.

Tablescape 2
Beautiful Thanksgiving setting....
This flower arrangement was also assembled by the member presenting it. ...crafty and talented group of ladies. The vase filler was lemons and tiny "crystal~like "pumpkins from Big Lots.

Tablescape 3
Blue Turkey and Pewter Combination
Very striking....

Fresh greenery tucked into the napkin ring.

Tablescape 4
Recognize this Setting?
My contribution....

The napkin above was stamped with my friend's, Mrs. Jolene's first initial, (in permanent ink), with the intent that it could be used as a place card alternative.
I offered another sample napkin, (below), stamped with the traditional last name initial.
Martha Stewart stamps were used on both, and the one below is stamped with paint, which I preferred.
I realized half-way through the meeting, that I had forgotten my little accent swigs of fresh green cedar. :(

Tablescape 5
The colors of the camera do not do this setting justice.
The charger was a deep ruby red, perfect backdrop.
The centerpiece was filled with red cellophane (holiday colored saran wrap), and floating candles. The cellophane was weighted with clear glass pebbles, and was intended to remain lower. The contributor suggested using more pebbles for the desired effect. Fresh greenery surrounds...

Tablescape 6
Take notice of the "napkin ring". It is a piece of ribbon, with velcro attached at the overlap. The lady presenting this setting uses this year after year, storing the ribbon flat. Simple, yet fabulous idea!

The centerpiece retrieved from her attic, and tweaked with a new candle and live greenery.

Beautiful ruby red stems...

Tablescape 7
Christmas in red, white, and blue.
(Again, my camera did not do this setting justice, striking and much prettier in person.)
The lady who presented this setting made the three flower arrangements, which are intended to extend down the center of her dining table.
Her first attempt at flower arranging, I was impressed! :)
The blue fabric trim on the placemat was a beautiful, warm velvet.

I hope you enjoyed these Holiday Contributions!
Be sure to visit Susan, for more Tablescape Inspiration! :)

It was a yucky day on Sat. & Sun., but for me, any day at the beach is still good. I haven't been to Broadway at the Beach (except the aquarium)all year & spent almost the entire summer there...hard to believe. I've never heard of Create a Ride...will have to check it out!

The variety of shades of red used in #6 really appealed to me. The ornaments and candle in the centerpiece match so well with the placemat, stemware, and napkin. The S/P finish off the setting just right.

P.S. I don't polish my birds... they are just in the natural. Yours might be ormolu which is like a gold wash over metal. You might want to take them to a brass polisher and find out, Rhonda. Just wanted to try and answer your question both on my blog and here where you might see it more quickly! :-)
