Saturday Evening Post of This & That....

Just posting a few odds & ends, to close out the week, so to speak...

Slim Pickings at the Yard Sales this Morning...
The yard sales are generally scarce at the end of the month, and the flea market looks like a ghost town, and yet, I go....
Just in search of that one treasure I might find to bring home!
This lone chair was my catch for the day. I found this at a church yard sale, marked $20, but they let me have it for $15!
It needs painting and reupholstering, but is structurally sound!
I think it will make a fine chair one day! "smiles"

Update on my Flowers...
I was able to plant most of my flowers last Saturday, and after a good dose of fertilizer and rain, they seem to be doing well! I can already see that some are growing and filling out!

I was determined to step out of my comfort zone and try new plants this year! I found this AGAPANTHUS, when we went to Florence, SC! It supposedly takes sun, heat, and dryness very well...perfect for me! And so we shall see! :)
It has one bloom on it, but look at the next picture!
I found this picture on the internet, and it is what my Agapanthus is to become! Oh, I can't wait!

Josh Goes to the Prom...

Josh is a junior in high school, and this was his first prom!

I thought he looked right handsome! :)

Josh, his date, and friends...
Josh isn't that short, his date was just really tall. They all looked smashing!

Thank you, Ashley!!!

You may have noticed I now have MUSIC to accompany my blog! My daughter had enough patience to help me set my playlist up!

Thank you, Sweetie! :)

That sums up my week! I found a quote in the current Victoria magazine, that made me think of blogging when I read it.......

"One ought, every day at least, to hear a little song,
read a good poem, see a fine picture,
and, if it were possible,
to speak a few reasonable words."
-Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

I am glad you are trying Agapanthus. I lways get so many comliments on mine. I have grown both teh standard and teh dwarf varieties in pots on our deck and they get alot of attention. You might also enjoy the Allium, if you haven't grown them before. They are somewhat similar but make such a gorgeous cut flower that lasts a whole week. If you Google it you will see plenty of varieties and colors. Thanks for sharing your week. www.ushouldbesolucky.blogspot.com

Josh looks so handsome. Ahley is a doll too. Such pretty eyes. Your flowers are lovely. Makes me jealous. The lilacs are about to burst open and I am very excited to have their lovely scent all around us. The bright yellow and red tulips make me smile every time I pull up to the house. They are so lively and cheery.

hugs,
Tammy

Hi Rhonda -- thanks for stopping by my blog! I spent some time on yours this morning with my coffee, and enjoyed all your pictures!

I felt the same way about turning 40.. I love this age! And.. I saw Paula Deen on Oprah recently.. what a hoot she is!! Wouldn't she be fun to have for a neighbor?!

I'll add your link to my blog, and come back to visit! Happy Spring!
Smiles,
Brenda

Good morning Rhonda :)

I LOVE Agapanthus. I grew up with it because it grows so easily in California. We can only grow it indoors here in Ohio, but I've yet to buy one for the house. All the flowers are so beautiful :)

Josh and Ashley are two beautiful kids! Josh's date looks like she's about 25 and very pretty ;)

Have a great Monday!
hugs,
rue

Rhonda, Thanks for stopping by for a visit! Loved your post, your children are beautiful! Isn't it great when we are able to get computer help from our dear children, what would we do without them? I for one would not be blogging very well, probably wouldn't be able to turn on the computer even...ok not that bad but almost! Have a great week, I am praying for some more good weather to garden in...
Hugs, Donna Lynn

That chair has great lines! I'm sure it will be gorgeous when you're done with it!

I have agapanthus in front of my house. We have very hot, very dry summers and they do just fine. They are very pretty when they bloom.

Your son looks so handsome!

Hi Rhonda... I have seen your name so much and was tickled when you visited. Glad you enjoyed my May Pole art... I think they are enchanting! Also, I loved your life motto... Ohhh, and your children are beautiful. Such blessings, aren't they? Don't know what I'd do without my boys!

Your blog is lovely and I'm adding you to my list... if you don't mind... I look forward to visiting often, and hope you'll find your way back to my little blog anytime!

God bless
Pearl
