False Advertisement....

...or maybe I should have entitled this post,
The Good, the Bad, and The Ugly...
Stick with me, and you'll see why! :)
I am officially the first one in the neighborhood to start putting out my Fall decor. I waited patiently until the first day of Fall, and up it went!

The light colored pumpkin came from the Farmer's Market. The farmer selling these has been saving and replanting the seed for this variety of pumpkins for 35 years!

I would love to tell you that I planned and intentionally put only one wreath on the double doors. I had one on each door, but with the carpenters coming in and out, the hook wouldn't hold. So, now I like to think of the remaining wreath as an extension of my fall display! LOL!

Now onto to the back door...
A Fall Mum to greet you!

And on the other side of the back doors, another fall display....

Still needs a little tweaking, at least a few more mums and pumpkins.

Check out the rooster, decked out in his finest for the season! :)

From the outside of the house, everything is just peachy, or should I say just pumpkiny! :) Looks like a normal clean, organized house ready for the Fall season, right???

Anything but!

Come on in and see my shame! LOL!

The Seemingly Neverending Remodeling Project...

Why is it so hard to finish one room before moving on to another??? Ah, men! LOL! If they weren't doing such a great job, it would be harder to choke down! In our area, new construction has stopped, so skilled carpenters are looking for any work! ...which was fortunate and a blessing for us! Four homes right around us are doing remodeling projects for the first time in the three years we have been here.

Most of the white walls in the picture below were painted the taupe today, by me! I pitched in to help paint, hoping to move things along a little faster! :)

The marble floors will be coming up tomorrow, and making way for new tile...

And these glass blocks on the stairwell will be replaced next week by new banisters and railings. These are MY "white eleplant" in the room. They look so cold and clinical, and I will be glad to bid them farewell!

See all the little John Deere toys behind the couch! David often brings down a few to play in the floor with. I've told him to take them back up to his room when he was done. I thought he was, but when we pushed the couches up, I found his stash! LOL!

I guess from the outside you would never know just how bad things are on the inside! But, slowly they are coming together! If I just maintain my sanity until then! LOL!

Yay! Am I the first to tell you how nice the display looks out front (and back)?
You make me want to put mine out.
I just love that little flag stand you have with your monogrammed flag. I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for one of those.

It's going to be so gorgeous when you're done you won't even remember the mess. And I gotta say I'm really glad you're banishing those glass blocks! It will be so much prettier with a railing. I can't wait to see the end result!!!

This little peek at your house has me absolutely dying to see more! What a beautiful home you have!! I know what you mean about the mess. Every room of my house was packed with totes and I sorted through every one of them to make sure what I wanted to sell, donate, and give away. It was a prolonged process. Now it's hard to get the contractors here bz our job is so small. There is still plenty of work for contractors around here so I'm not a priority especially with cooler weather coming. We got the new door installed last week and now the plumber must get here soon!! At least you can see progress with yours! LOL!!

Your fall decorations are lovely, even if you do only have one wreath! I love unusual pumpkins like that. We make a trip to our local pumpkin patch every year and I find all different sorts.

I know it must be such a pain to have the house torn up, but it will be so worth it when you're done. I'm just loving the new trim, and the new stair banister will be a nice change!

Everything looks so fallish. I love it!! I know what you mean about projects. I never finish on before I have another going on. Just like books I always ready two at the same time. CRAZY that's me! Come over to my blog and register for my giveaway.

The fall decorations are really lovley. I like that white pumpking. Very nice. Oh, I would put your rooms to shame after a busy week at school. I wouldn't dare photograph them. I have piles every where that need to be put away.

You house looks beautiful to me and very spacious! I could live with a little clutter to enjoy a home like yours. :)

take care,
Dawn

Loved the outside decorations.

It won't be long until everything in the house will be new and looking fantastic..then you can put all the fall items out.

Love your decorations. Especially the ones at the front of the house. We used to do a lot of painting in previous houses, but most of the walls in this house are too high for amateur painters especially old amateur painters. We painted some of the walls that are not so high. I love to paint but hate the prep and cleanup. Thanks for sharing.

Just saw your front doors and had to ask if that shade might just be Martha Stewart's Shiraz? Looks sooo similar to my front door color. Your front doors are so much prettier, though. Okay, back to finish reading, lol! :)

The bad thing about redoing the inside is ; you can't move out ! And it seems like you are forever moving everything from one room to another. But it will be worth it.
It is looking great.

Hi Rhonda... LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Fall decorations! The "special" Pumpkin is such a soft, lush color... how neat that the Farmer has saved those seeds for so long!

I think your home is just so beautiful, even with the "tweaking" that is going on... but, I know it's making you nuts with things not being in order inside. Hey... I've seen much worse!! I'm praying for your sanity, sweet Friend!! LOL

So glad you've been enjoying my Vintage Eye Candy posts! Tons more to come... Hope your day goes well... God bless...

~hugs, love 'n prayers~

You make me feel so guilty because my outside looks just like it did in the middle of summer.

Your house is gorgeous and it shows, even though you're in the middle of redoing it. Make sure you show the after pictures.

I can't wait to see all that you do. It will look marvelous when it heads towards completion. Besides we love all the stories and commotion along the way, the good and the bad, the ordinary. Believe me we can all relate!
It isn't so bad, at least you have a goal in mind! And we love pictures of all the process!
Blessings,
