Two Fall Gatherings and an early Pink Saturday...

Fall is my favorite season!
Two of my dear blogger friends are hosting Fun Fall Events this week!
... gathering and sharing beautiful fall decor and tablescapes, delectable recipes, interesting pumpkin facts, etc....
I encourage you to visit them, Lisa, at Stop and Smell the Chocolates...

And Heidi, tomorrow at, Foxgloves, Fabric, and Folly!

(If you are here for PINK Saturday...please, scroll on down)

please, Join me in my Dining Room....

I shared the table arrangement below a few weeks ago, but have since "tweaked it" a little, taking out most of the orange accents and adding deep red and green hydrangeas. Compliments the colors of the dining room much better.

New Valances finished and hung just last night! Blogging motivates me to finish many projects, how about you??? :)

Fall Gatherings Recipe:
Chocolate Chip Pie
3 eggs beaten, 1 1/2 cups sugar, 3/4 cup self-rising flour, 3/4 cup butter, 1 tsp. vanilla, 3/4 cup chocolate chips, 3/4 cup walnuts or pecans, 2 unbaked pie shells
Blend together eggs, sugar, flour, and butter. Then add remaining ingredients. Bake shells in 350 degree oven for 30 minutes, or until pies are brown and firm. Top with Cool Whip.

Hope you enjoyed the tour!
Tonight I am off to the lakehouse, to carry Ashley and a group of girls for a sleepover. I will not have access to internet until late Saturday, and then I will probably be really tired!
....Know what I mean? LOL!
So, I have posted my PINK Saturday post below....
Beautiful PINK sky, just before dusk a few evenings ago!
(~Hosted by Beverly at, How Sweet the Sound)

Wishing you a fabulous FALL weekend! ~Rhonda :)

Your dining room and decorations are absolutely gorgeous. I can't believe how it turned out. Is all the trim work new? You did a great job on the valances too. If I'm not careful you just may get me liking green! I'm still in awe and am just amazed at your eye for beauty! This is one of many reasons I love your blog. You seriously could decorate for a living if you wanted! I don't think I could afford you though bz you could charge top dollar and get it!! I'm painting the casings on the outside of our new laundry room door today and I HATE PAINTING! The door wasn't in the insurance plan but we needed one and when I blog the finished product I'll tell you why (long story as usual from me!). Have fun at the Lakehouse for your girls' night out! Wish I could come bz I know you'll make it fun!

Your dining room is GORGEOUS!!! Oh lady teach me how to decorate like that! Is your dining room set an antique? It is super yummy! The arrangement on the table is incredible.......and the mouldings- where do I start!?! You have a gift my dear. WOW!
My dad is doing much better. He was released from the hospital Thursday evening and is enjoying being back at home and sitting out on the back deck. Although he was a little down today (first day of bow season and all! LOL!!) he was relieved to be home and out of that tiny hospital room! He has had a flood of visitors too which he is really enjoying! He has surgery on his arm and wrist this coming Tuesday. They said he was doing well enough moving around on his own that he could pass on physical therapy if he wanted. He was able to do two stairs while at the hospital which is all they have at the house so they thought he would be fine. His doctor told him it would be at least three full months before he would be released back to work though! Oh my! He didn't take that very well. He has been sleeping on a recliner because he isn't able to get in and out of bed very easily. Still in a lot of pain but thankful to be as good as he is. Praise God for that!
Thanks for stopping by.........and for all the words of encouragement to stick around! Marc read the email you sent and kept saying "You go Rhonda! You tell her!" LOL!!
HUGS
Heather :)

HI! Well, I am participating in Heidi's Autumn Tablesetting AND Pink Sat., too. Whew! So many fabulous spots to visit--which include YOUR wonderful diningroom!

I do love your tablesetting--so terrifically fall and festive. Your mirror over your buffet looks great--is it vintage?

I noticed you are a Palin fan (ME TOO!)--I even have a Wasilla, Alaska, denim shirt I bought there last summer on a vacation--as a souvenir. I didn't have a clue as to who she was--I just loved Wasilla and I love denim shirts. I also attended a rally for them and posted about it. If you're interested, just go to my blog and find the Sept. 10th post---we were on the third row and I got to touch McCain's PINKIE! It was quite a day. We just HAVE to get our congress to pass a sensible solution to this mess on Wall St., then they (everyone in DC) need to be accountable as to what is going on!

Enough!

Hope your Sat. was great! Dana

I clean house more too...do you?

Rhonda- Did you MAKE those valences?? Gorgeous! As far as the name Morning Glories and Moonflowers, well, I had to think about it for awhile. I wanted something a bit feminine, and while they are not my favorite flowers, they remind me of my girls. We plant morning glories and moonflowers every summer and they grow on the little yellow play house that their Daddy built for them. The flowers even find their way INTO the house at some point, kind of like a Secret Garden! It's so charming.:) Lori

Hey Scooter...so glad the recipe did so well for you...I hope to post my chicken salad one soon..it is my favorite! lol I am excited I won something from Dana...that girl is a hoot! lol But oh did you see the dishes with the wheat on them....girl I cried...I grew up eating on a set like that when I visited my aunt & uncle...oh it brought back a flood of memories for me. So you use velcro on those valances huh? Welllll I don't care if you used scotch tape and paper clips...they are gorgeous!!! lol lol Your whole home is gorgeous and just speaks volumns of who you are and all the love you have for home & family! Hope you had a great day sweetie...I saw that pretty tassel you made for Rue (of course it's not as pretty as the one you made for me...seeing as how I am your 'favorite'.....but we won't shine a light in her darkness there! lol lol) Love ya girl!

You bet we could show these girls how to have a good time! I have a friend who just moved from NC this spring. She was there four years and I never could make it out to see her. I really regret that but times are what they are. I would love to make it some day though. She just moved to Illinois and is only about 1-1/2 hours from Nauvoo where I so want to go. Maybe, just maybe she won't move from here before I can make it! Hope the weekend was a blast!

I'm just teasing you! I'm not that obsessed, really. Remember I like to WATCH him kiss, I don't dream of actually doing it!! LOL! Oh, my reputation, must keep it intact!! LOL. Thanks for coming to see me today.
