Parasol & Paper Swap....

During May and the beginning of June, I collected items for a swap I was participating in, The Parasol and Paper Swap, graciously hosted by Shannon, from Paint Mine Pink.

My swap partner was Pearl, from Pearl's Sentimental Journey, and we were both first time swap participants. Our instructions were to swap parasol items and pretty paper products.

I absolutely had a wonderful time gathering all the little objects, and an added bonus... to know that it was going to such a special lady, one of my best blogging buddies, Pearl.

Pearl is amazing! She has many serious health problems, yet she trudges along. She is always encouraging, witty, and such a sweet soul! And, she is a genius on the computer! Her way with words and graphics is outstanding!

Below is my package of goodies, wrapped and ready to be delivered to Pearl...

As a prelude to the swap, Pearl posted some fabulous vintage pictures of ladies and parasols! This is my contribution...

The children and I were eating lunch today, and what does the mail man bring, but a box for ME, with Pearl's name and return address! OOHHH...I started doing the "PICKET SQUEAL & DANCE!!!" I know what this is and it is going to be GOOD, I inform the kids!

They were as excited as I was! Ashley grabbed scissors, I grabbed my camera and we dug in to the box! They were a little miffed with me, because I kept pausing to take pictures!

I absolutely loved each and every little item, and all the details of the wrapping and packaging were beautiful! Pearl outdid herself! But I have to say, this is my very favorite item in the box! It was one of the last that I unwrapped, and I CRIED! I intend to frame this with the little "Ephesians" Tag she made also!

The little tag, of the girl in the blue suit, is the "Ephesians Tag." It reads...Ephesians, "For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow-citizens with the saints, and of the household of God;" 18-19.

How appropriate!

And guess what was in this sweet package...a lovely vintage looking parasol, which I already have just the place for! :)

The following pictures are more of the items in the box...

Thank You, so much Pearl! I loved everything in my package! You were the best swap partner, and you are always such a good friend!

My children said THANKS, too! My "less than pleasant" disposition, carried over from yesterday, has entirely changed for the better! LOL! SO, they really appreciated the package! LOL!

You brightened my day...as all of my Blogger friends do!

Hi Rhonda! I love your goodies! Those swaps always look like so much fun. I've never participated because I know I wouldn't be good about gathering things up and getting them mailed, but it's always fun to see other people's treasures.

My garage sale went okay, but I'm sure glad it's over! I think it will be a very long time before I want to have another!

This sounds like loads of fun! Glad you liked her package! Loved seeing your phrase of picket's (squeal like a sissy girl)! I used it in my blog about Savannah too! Amazing what we pick up from each other isn't it?! I really am going to use your word "glisten" for "sweat" from now on. It sounds much more genteel doesn't it?! Have a good one. Cindy
