Tagged & Catering Gig....

I'll try to keep this post as short as possible, but I have two things to share today! I've noticed that my entries are getting a might long-winded. I do apologize! Each week, I sit at my computer, think to the week ahead, and wonder, ....what do I possibly have to blog about next week? Then, when that week comes, I find myself editing and cutting, and always behind in events, with TOO much material!. It's not that I think my life is exciting...I know you are all waiting with bated breath to see ANOTHER tractor, or picture of my kids. Or that I have great wisdom to share that will have a profound impact on your lives! LOLOL! But blogging is a way for me to record my thoughts and the events of our daily WHIMSICAL life. A "scrapbook" of memories, so that I can look back and recall what my ever feeble mind has forgotten. So, Thanks for sticking with me! "smiles"

::::::::::::

I Have Been Tagged!
I have been tagged to share 6 unimportant things about myself, by Heather, from Hopscotch and Hydrangeas. Now unimportant facts, to me, are what brand of deodorant or toothpaste I use, ...or how much I weigh, cause only me and Jesus know that one! Or if I snore at night, which my husband says I do! Being that you really might not care to know these things, I will share 6 RANDOM things about myself, and you can decide if they are unimportant or not! "smiles"
Oh, and I forgot...I am to share the rules of the game....
1) Link back to the person that tagged you.
2) Post the rules on your blog.
3) Share 6 unimportant things about yourself.
4) Tag other bloggers to participate, at the end of your entry.
~~~~~~
1) I love to read! ...that is, when I have time! When I was a teenager, my parents rented a beach house each summer, for a week. My brother was a surfer, my mom, a sun lover, and my dad, a golfer....and I, a reader. I would spend my entire vacation, with my nose in a book, while they went about their activities! It ran my family crazy! And, when I start a book, I can't put it down! I have begun many books in an afternoon, and not put them down until I finished them in the wee hours of the morning.
2) My two favorite movies are, The Wizard of Oz and The Sound of Music. When I was growing up, they came on TV about once a year. It was a big event for my dad and I, and we never missed an opportunity to watch them!
Oh, how I longed for a pair of those Ruby Red Slippers....
I still think the most beautiful song, is Climb Every Mountain. And I sure wish I could yodel and join the von Trapp family, singing the witty tune, The Lonely Goatherd.
3) My favorite toy was my Barbies! I played "house and beauty shop" with them for hours, and even stitched what I thought, was a fine wardrobe for each one.
4) I have a serious addiction to SHOES!!! I have been known, (on many occasion), to buy a pair of shoes...then find a outfit to match my shoes. Or to have 2 or 3 pairs of shoes to match ONE outfit! I've never met an animal print shoe I didn't like....or love!
Just a glimpse below of SOME of my shoes, LOL!...
I even have two pairs of monogrammed shoes!
5) I love to cook, especially for a crowd, but it wasn't always so! I'm still learning, but baby, have I come along way! My first meal for my newly wedded husband was.... Hamburger Helper Sweet & Sour Chicken, over instant mashed potatoes! I think the mashed potatoes running with sweet & sour sauce, is what ruined the meal...it was awful! LOL!
6) And last but not least...I still do not know what I want to be when I grow up! Seriously! I've watched Oprah, (although not recently, because I am on the outs with her...enough said there).... where women invent simple things, or start some small business out of their homes, and end up making millions! That will most likely never be me! I have a degree in English, and other than publishing my blog, and sending the occasional Thank You or Sympathy note, ...it is wasted! I would love to make a career doing something that I love, but I fall short of being good enough at anything I love, to get paid for it! LOL! Except being a mom, I do love that, and so for now, that is enough! "smiles"
Now I would like to TAG the following bloggers to participate, if you would like...
Deb, at Deb's Country Kisses
Lisa, at Stop and Smell the Chocolates
Pearl, at Pearl's Sentimental Journey
Susie, at Bienvenue
Only me here, at Just another day in Paradise
& Sherry, at Edie Marie's Attic
Catering Gig...
Last Friday night, I catered a party introducing a new make-up line, at a local Salon and I thought I would share some of the pictures I took. It was quite a feat, but also lots of fun!
Ashley getting her make-up done...
I think that concludes the last of my long posts I have planned! ...but I won't promise anything! LOL! And with that I leave you singing....
"So long, farewell, auf wiedersehen,
adieu,
adieu, adieu,
to yieu, and you, and yieu...
~Rhonda
Hi Rhonda, great post. I don't know how you can call any of that unimportant, it was very interesting. I'm with you on the Oprah thingy and that's all I'm going to say. The catering was lovely, I'm standing in line with my plate. Everything was setup very beautiful and the food looks so tasty. Girl you've got skills. Have a great day Rhonda, Deb
Enjoyed your post. I feel when we write our post we are doing our part in posting part of the history of our life. Not that any of mine is earth shattering but I keep a copy of it...in years to come my great grand children can read what their Granny was doing/thinking in 2008. Keep on posting your actions, thoughts and most important of all the blessings we receive from our dear Lord!
Rhonda, this was fun. I was the same way about reading and Barbies when I was young. I still have a hard time putting a book down once I have started reading it.
Hi Love~Bug!
I just loved this post ~ Please do NOT ever think they're too long... I enjoy reading about everything you share with us. Thank you!
I have to totally agree with your comments before your tag list... also, thanks for tagging me! I'll be doing that post after I visit with some more folks. Count me in with you on your love of The Wizard of Oz and the Ruby Slippers. Did you ever know, or notice, that for awhile I had a photo of them called Pearl's Dream Slippers at the end of my Blog page? I'll toss it in with my tag post so you can see it. My true Oz Passion, though, was Glinda the Good Witch... she is going to be a post all of her own, soon! LOL
Your shoe closet is awesome! I was tickled to see on one box the word "Gotham" and was wondering if you secretly worked with Batman? ~chuckle~ Also, saw a box that said "CLASSIFIED"... now I know where you keep your "secrets"!
Rhonda... you said that you didn't know what you were going to be when you "grow~up"... and, that you weren't "good enough" at anything... ahmmmm... ~clearing my throat 'n pointing to the catering section of this post~ ...NOT gonna say ANOTHER WORD!! ~smiles 'n mumbles... silly girlie~
Loved the catering photos... just stunning! And, that photo of Ashley... ohhh my! She is just so beautiful... like her Mom ~hug~ ... I was wondering, if it's not too much to ask... could you send that lil man with the white towel draped over his arm to my house... ohhh, say for the next 30 years, or so? Just sleep on it and let me know later... LOL
OK... now I've left a long comment to match your long post! I LOVE IT... have a wonderful day... God Bless...
~hugs 'n love~
