Countdown 'til Christmas ~ Day 12/Miracle at Christmas

Last week, Kevin was traveling home from work, and as he often does, was talking on his cell with me, to pass the time of the hour long drive. I had planned to make taco salad for dinner, and it just isn't good warmed over, so when he was about half way home, I said, "I've got to get my supper on, so it will be ready when you get here." As soon as we quickly disconnected, Kevin noticed car lights amidst smoke, in the woods right off the road. In almost a split second, Kevin looked back to the road in front of him, and barely missed a car stalled at a dead stop, with no head lights on. {It was dark by this time.}

I could stop the story here, and deem this a miracle that he didn't hit the car that was stopped. Kevin said that as soon as we had gotten off of the phone, he switched his cruise off, which had been set at 65. What a tragedy that may have been for our family and the family of the man still in the car. But the story does go on...

Kevin braked and swerved to miss hitting the car, and then turned around to pull behind with his hazards on, out of fear to prevent another possible wreck. {This is a relatively busy highway.} Kevin ran to the man, who was alone, and urged him to quickly get out of the car. Even with the hazards on our Suburban, the middle of the road was not a place to be. The man was dazed and sore, but seemed okay otherwise.

Frantic screams were heard coming from the woods, and Kevin ran over to the other car. The car had been hurled into the woods, after the lady driving the car pulled out in front of the other car, t'boning her in the passenger side. The lady said she never saw the car. On the passenger side of the car, was a little girl about David's age, (10-11), and she was lifeless, and drained of any color. The mother pitifully cried and cried to the child, but there was no response. Kevin recalled that it just made him sick and was almost too much to bear. In just a short time, an EMT, some sort of other medical personnel, and a nurse, happened to be riding by and stopped. They all went to the child, but after assessing her, the nurse asked them to step back. She quickly began praying over her. Kevin tells that it was one of those prayers, where you just felt the Holy Spirit and pure power flowing through the words as they were spoken from her mouth. As the lady continued to pray, the child began to arouse, open her eyes, and her color returned. By the end of the prayer, she was crying to get out of her seat belt. {Which certainly helped save her life.} The child who had no color, after being revived, began to bleed from the many cuts from her face that weren't apparent before. It was as though her heart had stopped, and then began to pump again. I'm sure that this can be medically explained, but for all who were there, and have heard this story since, believe it was a true miracle!

God is so good and so faithful. He protects us, even when we don't see the danger coming, just as the lady who didn't see the car coming. When I think of all the times he has rescued me and my loved ones, I shiver at the thought of all the times He has done the same, and I wasn't even aware! Miracles aren't just for Christmas! But this certainly was a miracle, for our family, the lady and her little girl, the man driving the other car, and for their families! A miracle that will grant those involved and their families, another Christmas Holiday together!
And all I can say, with great praise, is, ...Thank You, God! ~Rhonda :)

Psalm 121:3 (New International Version)
" He will not let your foot slip— he who watches over you will not slumber; "

My husband used to say "Where there is breath, there is hope" I got him to stop saying that. I feel there is hope even after the breath is gone. God is the same yesterday, today and forever-This tells me that the miracle of resurrections are real even today-JUST as your story proved~Gives a whole new meaning to the words "Don't stop believing."
Your story gave me the Holy spirit chills all over, thanks so much for sharing it with us. God is so amazing-blessed be his name!

Wow! I didn't realize just how good it was to see you all at "the Feast" today! Perhaps someday God will give us a glimpse of the many "near-misses" of which we are not even aware.
Love to all,

I guess you don't get your comments emailed to you bz I stopped and left a comment on each one I missed! It should have filled your in box, lol! I'll definitely be back tomorrow. I'm off work today but had to check my checking account balance (scary stuff!) so I checked my email and saw your note. I need to frantically get some sewing done today and dishes, oh the dishes that I have to do, lol! I don't think I've been good enough for Santa to give me a dishwasher so I'll keep plugging away by hand. Have a great day today!

So many people think miracles don't exist anymore and that God is dead....surely many of us could tell stories such as this one but I still "stand amazed" at our mighty God. Thank you Jesus for saving this precious little angel.
