unbirthday party...

"I'm late, I'm late for a very important date!

No time to say 'Hello.' ~ Goodbye.

I'm late, I'm late, I'm late!"

~~~
Oh, I've traveled this path, back and forth, and can't seem to find the little door in the tree, that leads me to a very exciting event....
What do we have here? The Mad Hatter must have dropped his hat while on his way...
Finally, the door to the party... a very special party, indeed...an Unbirthday Party, hosted by Pearl, at Pearl's Sentimental Journey...
Hello, Mr. Mad Hatter, you must be the official party greeter....
"I'm sorry I interrupted your party!"
I have my invitation handy, ....
And a pink pearl arrangement, for our gracious hostess, Pearl!
I borrowed my beautiful party attire from my good friend, Eliza! Isn't it just lovely?
Oh, and I come bearing gifts....for all that are celebrating an Unbirthday today!
My, my Rabbit, you and Pearl have set a mighty fine table...
And look at the wonderful treats....
I brought a delicious dessert myself, Black Forest Cake. Would you like the recipe???
Black Forest Cake
~~~

1 (18.25 oz.) Devil's Food Cake Mix
21 oz. Canned Cherry Pie Filling
1 tbsp. Almond Flavoring
1 (3.4 oz.) package French Vanilla Instant Pudding

2 tbsp. Vanilla Extract
8 oz. Whipped topping (thawed)
2 tbsp. Chocolate Dessert Sprinkles
Maraschino Cherries
~~~
1) Bake cake according to box directions in a 13 x 9 pan.
2)Mix pie filling and almond flavoring.
3) While cake is still warm, poke top with a fork and spread cherry pie filling over cake.
4) While cake cools, prepare pudding, adding extra vanilla flavoring.
5) Fold in whipped topping, spread pudding mixture over cake, carefully covering pie filling.
6) Decorate with chocolate sprinkles and cherries. Cover and refrigerate.
I believe I will enjoy a cup of tea, and chat awhile with the other guest...
Thank you Pearl, for graciously hosting such a fun event! :)
"Happy uNbIrThDaY, to you All! ~Rhonda
Hi Rhonda,
Happy to meet you too! I absolutely love your outfit, how nice of Eliza to let you borrow it.
So glad you found the door (and what a beautiful door it is!).
I will take some of the cake, it's beautiful and thank you for the recipe - Black Forest Cake is my all time favorite and I usually only get it for my birthday, so this certainly is an Unbirthday treat - thank you!
Lots of fun here, see you at sweet Pearl's place & we'll talk some more ;)
(I have a feeling I'll be coming back here a lot... looks like lots of fun here too.)
This post put a smile on my face. I was Alice in my 8th grade school play. I sang that song in front of so many people. I can still feel the butterflys... Thanks for bringging back some old memories! Susie H~
A very Happy Unbirthday! What a wonderful post! This took me back to the days when I sat on my Grandmother's lap and she read Alice in Wonderland and Alice through the Looking Glass to me.
Hi Rhonda, This was the just the most imaginative little story!!! You know I love things like this!!!...So well done!!....Also looks like you all had a great day yesterday at the zoo!...Oh! How I know the "stir-crazy" feeling!...Just seems like everything we were planning for the summer has been canceled, postponed, etc.!!! I know I have so much to be thankful for, but somehow today that is the way Holly & I are feeling...a bit sorry for ourselves.....I am so tired of cleaning, sewing, etc.! Haven't you found me in a delightful mood! :)...O.K. enough!....I think we may need a trip to the zoo!...Have a great weekend!....Heidi XO
What a fun idea to host an UNbirthday party. You went to so much work and it was well worth it. We all had a great time. Your dress was the bestest.
Thank you
